Aries and Dragon over here.

I am struck by an image of a huge, fearsome lizard covered with fleece.

Nice with the big cats, though. :P

You said something about having a brain injury in 1981 - if I may ask, what type?

What brought that on?

Yeah, I was in a car accident in 1981; I sustained a closed head injury and was comatose for a month.

I've noticed brain injuries are much more common than people admit or realize; I read Nico, the singer with the Velvet Underground, was killed when she fell off a bike onto her head.

Do you notice any particular deficits, if I may ask? I have a friend with brain injury from a car crash, and she has verbal processing problems; do you notice anything like that?

Whoa...yeah. Being a brain injury, it managed to affect every part of my life and alienate me from both my peers and family. I have had ataxia (balance problems), dysarthria (speech problems), delusions, suicidal ideations, halos (pre-seizure auras), confusion, dizziness, headaches, and depression.

Fortunately, by this time most of all that is gone or under control. My balance is still a little off, but is incredibly good, considering. I've been seizure-free for over 20 years, so I currently take no meds—which were what were giving me the depression and suicidal ideations. Life is good.

Life is good.

That sounds fine, like you got an excellent outcome.

No specific problems with impulse control, processing verbal information, perceiving social signals from others, that sort of thing?
